١- Senior Finance Officer
The Syrian American Medical Society Foundation (SAMS Foundation) is a nonprofit organization formed in 1998 by the medical professional diaspora. Its mission is to save lives and work to ensure a healthier future for all through medical relief and healthcare development on behalf of Syrian American healthcare professionals. SAMS Foundation is a leading advocate for a comprehensive approach to disaster relief and the protection of health systems in the Syrian conflict.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for providing financial and accountancy capacity and support to the day-to-day management of the finance functions in SAMS Regional office- Jordan programs.
Key Tasks and Duties:
- Review expense vouchers submitted by requestors to ensure that account codes are correct, the projects still exist and the requests are within the budget lines.
- Verify that all expense vouchers are properly approved, supported documents are properly organized and stamped with proper stamps.
- Review of cash and bank books after monthly closing to ensure that expense vouchers together with the relevant supporting documents are attached to support payments.
- Prepare the cash and bank reconciliations together with the Finance officer/ Assistant to ensure that the cash and bank books reconcile with the cash on hand and the bank statements.
- Review the monthly payroll send by Senior HR, ensure that formulas, calculation of income taxes, social security, medical insurance and other allowances are accurate.
- Prepare salary allocations based on the monthly payroll.
- Monitor, closely, bank balance during the month and update finance manager of cash flow status of following month.
- Maintain the JV entries and ensure that supporting documents are attached to all entries and to keep track of the numbering.
- Supervise electronic and hard copies filing system of Finance Department on shared drive, get sure of proper scanned files of all ongoing and closed projects documents.
- Verify bank accounts reconciliations, monthly accrued expenses and monitor intercompany accounts
- Ensure that all staff cash advances are properly reconciled, approved by line manager and charged to correct budgets lines.
- Verify backup (translations, dates, stamps, etc.) for the Payment Vouchers.
- Assist Finance Manager in preparation of monthly and other financial reports due to SAMS and donors and update of reports templates.
- Ensure that on monthly, the transactions on daily basis all accounting records entered into the Accounting System under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager.
- Conduct field visits to SAMS activities in and outside Amman on a regular basis, as instructed by the Finance Manager.
- Maintain accurate files for taxation, social security and medical insurances, ensure a monthly reconciliation of the files and all records ties up to the respective accounts.
- Provide cover for the Finance Manager and Finance Assistance during their absences.
- Prepare any requested report and properly attached with the supporting documents.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the SAMS Jordan Finance Manager within scope of work.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or a similar degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with international non–governmental organizations in an accounting/finance.
- Previous experience regarding financial reporting and knowledge of donor regulations.
- Complete familiarity with QuickBooks and Deltak Cost Point 7 accounting software.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and drafting skills for effective financial reporting.
- Proven ability to supervise a team, handle a large workload, and multi-task to meet deadlines.
- Courteous, flexibility, optimism, and able to work in a diverse environment.
- Fluent written and spoken English required.

٢- Procurement Assistant
Job Purpose:
The procurement assistant is responsible for taking care of the SAMS procuremnts in cooperatopn with other team member.
Key Tasks and Duties:
- Update All procurement Tracking Logs.
- Achieving, scanning and filing all procurement files.
- Making Checklist for all procurement files.
- Suppliers ATC check and update log on all Procurement Suppliers.
- Issuing request for Quotation letters For Amman and inside Syria offices.
- Following up price quotations from suppliers and our inside Syria.
- Anti-Terrorism check (ATC) "updating data vendor list".
- Create Bid Analysis (B.A) and handing it to be reviewed & approved.
- Getting prices for Market survey every month.
- Gathering (Invoice + GRN + all related documentation) to be 2nd review by Procurement officer.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor degree in business administration or any other related field.
- Proven working experience in data Logging and Tracking.
- Excellent in capturing and analyzing data.
- Fluent in written and spoken Arabic.
- Written and spoken English, Minimum 4 IELTS or equivalent in TOFEL or TOEIC.
- Excellent command of computer skills, Especially Excel Sheets.
- Very good organizational.
- Negotiations Skills and networking.
- Knowledge of procurement cycle techniques and reading the market.
- Ability to track the work with multiple processes.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

٣- Grants Finance Officer
Job Purpose:
The grants finance officer is responsible for donors financial reporting, grants budgets monitoring and reporting in addition to any other related tasks.
Key Tasks and Duties:
- Assist in providing needed data for the grants proposals team.
- Assist in drafting the grants proposal budget narratives.
- Take the lead in preparing the grants budgets in accordance with the chart of accounts.
- Prepare timely and high quality required financial reports in addition to the related backup documentation to be submitted to donors as per as the grants agreements terms and conditions.
- Prepare monthly grants budgets versus actual reports to be provided to direct supervisor and other related team members, addressing any reallocation needs or modifications required.
- Review and check issued purchase requests (PR) to make sure that allocation is accurate and funds are there to cover the costs.
- Review, monitor and verify any reimbursement for expenses received from cross border.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or any other related field.
- Minimum of 4 -5 years of experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, reporting within INGO and/or NGO receiving multi-source funding.
- Good reporting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Very good English language skills are required.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and to work on several assignments in parallel.
- Ability to work within a team and to be an active team player.
