ORGANISATIONAL PURPOSE:
Islamic Relief Jordan (IRJ) began its operations in 1997 with orphan’s sponsorship, sponsoring hundreds of orphans living in Jordan. IRJ extended its programs to seasonal projects with Ramadan and Qurbani distributions and In-Kind donations. IRJ has established strong partnership with international non-governmental organization and local one’s strengthening the overall response to the Syria crisis. At the onset of Syria humanitarian crisis in late 2011, IRJ provided emergency response to those affected by violence in Syria and has since then scaled up its capacity and operations with number of 110 staff across the country.
JOB PURPOSE AND OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the health coordinator, the Male/Female nurse is responsible for the overall nursing and medications components to support implementation of Primary Health Care, and referring to secondary and tertiary health care as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
The Nurse will be specifically responsible for performing the following activities in close collaboration with the medical doctors and other clinic staff, provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Duties include:
- Receive and prepare the patients for medical doctor examination.
- Conducting vital signs measurements and other medical checkups for patients.
- Preparing equipment and ensuring examination rooms are clean and stocked with required supplies and materials.
- Aiding physician as required during treatment and examination.
- Updating patients’ registration books and other related appointment information.
- Maintaining and reviewing patients’ records, charts and other pertinent information.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality, and privacy.
- Provide the prescribed medication, and organize the stock management of drugs and PHC clinic commodities.
- Responsible for medication management, pharmacy, inventory, and prescriptions books.
- Preparing and facilitating regular health education sessions for patients at the clinics, regarding the medication usage or other health related education.
- Ability to provide reports on cases, medications, and analysis.
- Support the project team in collecting beneficiaries’ feedback and impact studies.
- Performing other related duties as may be assigned.
Referral:
- Obtain All patients needed documents and medical reports.
- Continuously update the work plan and related key documents.
- Close follow up with all patients and ensure obtaining the required documentation.
- Before approving any case, the Nurse should make sure that this case is not covered by other NGOs by coordination with the responsible team members.
- Make sure that all beneficiaries are aware of the donor and the health assistance data.
- Responsible to maintain all beneficiaries’ records.

- Report on weekly basis the number of assessed cases& beneficiaries received health services.
- Report to project coordinator any risks and challenges anticipated during the project implementation.
- Provides regular updates and reports on progress in areas or responsibilities.
- Ensuring beneficiaries signature on the logbook/prescription after receiving the medications.
Qualification:
- Prefer to have Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing, Diploma in nursing is acceptable.
- Have a valid license.
- NGO Experience is preferable.
- At least 2 years’ working experiences in Nursing field.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure.
- Ability to Follow up with patients and ensure receiving a good quality service.
- Knowing medication brand names ( local and international) is an advantage
- Excellent in excel and managing data forms.
- Excellent reporting skills in Arabic and English.
Languages:
- Good in spoken and written English.

Major Responsibilities:
The PHC Mobile Clinic Medical Doctor will be responsible for:
- Implement primary health care activities in identified fields through PHC Mobile clinic with the PHC Nurse, and Project team.
- Attend home visits to do assessment or case follow up as needed.
- Implementation of clinical care for mobile clinic activities.
- Prepare work plan of PHC mobile team in cooperation with MOH, and UNHCR to cover targeted in needed areas regularly.
- Manage organizing of referral for needed cases to the contracted Hospitals to provide Secondary and Tertiary health care in the targeted areas.
- Give technical support to the Nurse to ensure quality health education and promotion, and provide feedback to ensure quality work.
- Responsible to refer cases and attend pre surgeries screening for secondary and tertiary care and follow up as needed.
- Conduct regular visits to the contracted hospitals to check on the cases.
- Support the health coordinator in monitoring, quality implementation, and reporting.
- Ability to write reports once needed (medical and narrative), in addition to providing analysis once needed.
- Work with the team on beneficiaries’ feedback analysis and surveys.
- Represent as team leader of IRW PHC mobile team to local authorities and community.
- Organize training sessions to the mobile team on first aid care, systematic drugs use and other PHC clinic related topic as needed.
- Support and provide on-job training to PHC Nurses and Clinic Drug Dispenses as needed.
- Organize and conduct monthly mobile team meetings and participate in project team meeting.
- Provide health awareness sessions as needed for the beneficiaries and staff as needed and requested.

Islamic Relief Jordan is a country branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide. Islamic Relief Worldwide is an internationally recognized charity (Charity No.: 328158), looking back on nearly 30 years of experience in humanitarian and developmental aid. It was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, UK, in response to the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief has grown into a charity that is active worldwide, putting development projects, emergency aid, and rebuilding projects into action in over 28 countries around the world.
Islamic Relief Jordan (IRJ) began its operations in 1997, IRJ programme unit works toward introducing relevant interventions to Jordanians as well as Syrians and Palestinians refugees that would impact their lives and improve their life conditions. IRJ office has expanded with the Syrian crisis in 2011, with an annual income of 35,000,000GBP. The unit has successfully introduced interventions in a multi-sectors response, being the lead agency responsible for humanitarian assistance in the north of Jordan, reaching 200,000 refugees providing food, health care, cash for shelter and non-food items such as hygiene kits and winterization items in 2015 and 2016.
This post will be reporting to a project officer, and is required to spend 80% of the time in the field, with 20% of the time for office work, transportation is secured from office to the field location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring well organized and safe filing for the projects files and data.
- Make sure that all assessments are entered to the system 100% accurate.
- Conduct home visits for beneficiaries upon request and follow-up with beneficiaries for feedback.
- Make analysis including figures, statistics, and reporting as per project manager request
- Responsible to distribute the items in line with donor and Islamic Relief policy.
- Conduct administrative, logistical, and financial duties related to all aspects of project implementation
- Maintain effectively communication system and ensure information flow between project and relevant parties
- Responsible for beneficiaries files, registration, and organization of work flow
- Support the project team to reach targeted beneficiaries
- Submit weekly, and monthly plans
- Ability to manage financial and cash requirements for the project
- Responsible for supervising projects in progress and ensures that all issues related to the projects are clarified and completed to avoid confusion and interruption during execution of projects.
- Ability to manage warehousing (medications, vouchers, items).
- Keep track of all activities, and ensure that all activities are in line with plans, in order to meet up with deadlines.
- To ensure the accuracy of information provided to the manager.
- Ability to write quality reports and submit on time
- To participate in sectorial working groups meetings. Establish network with other NGO’s and CBO’s.
- Proficiency computer skills is highly required especially MS. Word and Excel
- Ability to manage relationships with other stakeholders and perform high quality mobilization activities such as but not limited to coordination with CBO’s for medical days.
- Fulfill any other tasks appointed by the project Officer.
